| Well, as a result of the death threat, I mean, umm . . . comment I recently received on my last post, I figured I should update.
Let's see: I work too much, still at the hopsital.
I think I've re-sold my soul to Eastern Medical Educators, as I spend at least 2 nights a week there messing with the EMT-wannabes. But, I enjoy it and am apparently good at it, so I'll take it.
I finally remembered to get my hair cut. It only took me about 6 months or so.
My obsession du jour is Indian food. I want a tandoor.
MIT boys are entertaining.
Coffeebreak Cafe's frozen cafe' mochas made with snickers parfait coffee and a shot of espresso are amazing ~ they're what keep me going through the EMT classes and miscellaneous other things I find myself teaching lately.
The DaVinci Code was a good movie, despite what Dan had to say about it being too cerebral. I disagree with him.
I saw Eunice and the baby (Samuel) as I was walking home tonight. Baby is very cute, but it's so scary to realise that Eunice procreated.
WORLD CUP!!!
And, last, but most certainly not least: my birthday is in a month and two days. Maybe I'll make it!! =)
That is all for now.

| Well, as of 11p tonight, I'm working overnights. I'm totally cool with
this, as it comes with a good differential, and the opportunity to work
inside with the patients more than I have been. My only concern is
readjusting my sleep schedule. It's only been over the past month and a
bit that I've become truly adjusted to my 6a-2p schedule. This week,
I'll be on 11p-7a Sun-Mon-Tues-Wed, have Thurs off, then work 6a-2p on
Fri, then have Sat off.
Yay for caffeine!! ;~)
But,
all in all, the job is still going well, and apparently pulling me
inside and putting me on overnights is a good thing according to my
director, 'cause it's more challenging and all, and he believes that I
can handle it.
Now to figure out if it's going to be better
for me to be up for a while and do stuff before going into work, then
sleep once I get home, or sleep the afternoon, then work and do stuff
afterwards, in the morning.
I'm going with the be up in the afternoon, work, then sleep model for now. We shall see, I s'pose. =)
And
now I have to figure out when I'll be going to the gym. I've been doing
it for a couple of months now, and I'm down 15 lbs from when I started,
so I really want to keep it up.
In any case, I should probably
start thinking about getting my stuff together for work. I wonder if I
should pack a lunch, or if I'm even going to get hungry. Hmm . . . I
guess I'll bring some soup or something just in case.
And now,
because I'm curious and could use some new suggestions (I'm getting
bored with my usual stuff), I'm going to ask you what are your favorite
things to toss in your bag and bring to work for lunch?
Oh, and family can be exceedingly infuriating on occasion. At least it's not my parents this time. ;~)
That is all.

worked as a security guard
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Neg x 2
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Hello? I do CAMPS. Does that answer your question? =)
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My great-grandmother was the only one this year.
5. What countries did you visit?
New Hampshire =)
6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?

7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Um, I suck at remembering dates, but one day that will stay engraved on my brain is the day I got my EMT license in my hand.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Not killing any of my various housemates? No, it was actually probably going back and getting my EMT.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I don't fail, I learn. It's part of how I stay sane as a rampant overachieving perfectionist. =)
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

been pretty healthy. The only injury came from a LOL (little old

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
entertained at my home

Wow . . . it's been a while. I've been reading my flist, but I haven't had the opportunity to update for some time.
Things
are mostly going pretty well here ~ I'm working a ton, but the people I
work with are wonderful, and my director is quite possibly the best
boss I've ever had (and Lord knows I've had more than a few bosses).
So, all is well on that front. I'm not sleeping nearly enough, but
that's normal for me. What isn't normal is the fact that my body is
actually calling me on this one ~ I sat down on my couch to read after
work today, and fell asleep for three hours. But, I didn't have
anywhere I had to be this afternoon, so it's all good.
The
majority of the family is doing well ~ except we found out a week ago
Sunday that my aunt Eileen fell out of remission. She's been in the
Brigham/Dana-Farber for the past 6 days, undergoing intense chemo. They
may let her go home for a short time this weekend, so she can be with
her kids for Christmas. It's just kinda rough, coz this is the third
time the cancer has come back in 18 months. That makes for some sucky
odds. I know God has her and everything, but I also know the numbers
and cold, hard science. It doesn't look good, especially since AML is
one of the worst types of leukemia out there. So, if you could be
praying, I'd appreciate it.
Let's see, what else? Oh, I've
spent a ton of time over the past few weeks hanging out with Allen and
the Ledders and therefore finally getting to know Michelle Ledder. I've
known her husband, Scott, for years, but I just finally had the
opportunity to get to know her over the past week and a half or so. Now
the boys are wondering what they've done by introducing the pair of us.
We have far too much fun together. =)
So, all in all,
life isn't too shabby in the beffie-bubble. I haven't made out my
Christmas cards, and I haven't bought any gifts yet, but that's okay.
So people get Epiphany presents? I think it's a good thing ~ it makes
the holiday last longer. =)
I love you all, and I'm sorry I haven't been around to talk with you more. You know how to find me if you need me. =)
as always,

| Mmm . . . so,
Thanksgiving was good yesterday. There were no fights of any
sort, no major catastrophes in the kitchen *pats self on back*, and no
one was ill. I'm impressed, and, yes, thankful. =)
Now, most of my friends don't
get this, since they don't come from large, crazy (both literally and
figuratively) Irish families, but a normal Thanksgiving crowd at my
grandmother's house is upwards of 20 people. We had 23 yesterday,
plus 3 dogs and a cat. So, you see, knowing how to cook a 20-lb.
turkey is an important skill in my world. =) Also, when you
throw that many members of my family together in an enclosed space,
fights of some sort are almost inevitable. But, I think we're all
starting to grow up a bit when it comes to that. Various events
over the past few years have taught us that life's just too damn short
to let stupid shit get in the way of the good stuff.
The only minor issue
yesterday was that my aunt Alana was supposedly going to cook dinner
and oversee the whole operation. Well, she wound up taking her
girlfriend into work, and then got stuck in traffic, so I wound up
making the majority of the meal. Not a big deal, I just would
have liked to have know about this, rather than getting stuck with
it. =) But, hey, it all came out well. Only once did
I have to tell all my cousins to get out of the kitchen before I tested
the electric carving knife on them. ;~)
Happiness of yesterday:
my dad actually had the day off, and didn't pick up any extra shifts,
and I didn't have to work, either, so we both had the same holiday off
for the first time in something like 3.5 years. It was great to
have my parents there for once. And my dad had such a good time
playing around with all the cousins ~ it was wonderful to watch him get
to be "Uncle Matty" for the first time in forever. In fact, my
dad instigated a snowball fight among all the kids yesterday.
See, they got 6" of snow in NH yesterday, and a bunch of it was still
in the back of dad's truck when he got to Ma's house. So, instant
snowball fight, complete with specially imported NH snow!! Good
times.
Okay, that is all for now. Time to go find something else to do. =)
